Suspended solids and bacteria removal mechanisms in ceramic filter and pervious concrete filter: a review

چکیده

The need for drinking water with affordable access is increasing nowadays. poor quality problems can be solved by several treatment methods, i.e. ceramic filter (CF) and pervious concrete (PCF). Those two mentioned technologies work based on the pores that exist within filter. This study aimed to review (1) influence of material composition CF PCF hydraulic characteristics (porosity, permeability, pore size, structure, connectivity/ distribution) its removal effectiveness, (2) mechanisms suspended solids bacteria characteristics. reviewed 45 literature, including books, reports, published articles. type, mineral, sources clay shape, proportion, size combustible materials will affect characteristic. type aggregate, ratio cement, aggregate cement are straining surface trapping deadlocked pores.
